The Opportunity:
Office of Research is looking for an Accountant III, responsible for providing management and financial support for operational activities, to include, taxes, overhead distributions, technology royalty distributions, internal and external auditing for the Research Foundation, National Entrepreneur Center (NEC), UCF Business Incubator Program (UCF BIP), and the Florida High Tech Corridor (FHTC).
Responsibilities:
As CFO of the NEC, this position is responsible for providing accurate, timely, and reliable professional accounting services which includes budgeting, planning, organizing, compiling, inputting, and analyzing financial data. Performs financial analysis and rolling projections for the NEC.
Works as a liaison between program managers and accounting, insuring appropriate fiscal resolutions of accounts.
Processes and monitors expenses including payroll ensuring compliance with state, federal and UCF Guidelines.
Responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting to the NEC Board of Directors.
Maintains financial records for the control of program income and expenditures, including collections, deposits and special accounting for tax receipts.
Manages the distribution of earned overhead on sponsored research contract and grant projects; earned management fee on research donations and other activities; and royalty and licensing fees earned on commercialized intellectual property.
Reconciles Purchase and Expense card transactions, requisitions, and purchase orders. Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using Microsoft Excel.
Experience in financial reporting, billing, or non-profit environment.
Exposure to sponsored research, federal billing, and related OMB Circulars is a plus.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to effectively interact with senior management and individuals with varying degrees of financial knowledge.
Experience with Workday or similar ERP.
Experience with IRS status 501(c)(3) requirements; state and local tax requirements, and strong audit skills.
