So after getting guiltily addicted to countless hours ofSay Yes To The DressI started thinking about famous peoples’ weddings and even more specifically the best kind of famous people…country stars! Because ya know, they are normal people too– with millions of dollars, big houses, ridiculous amounts of talent, and well, everything– but still totally normal. Have you ever wondered what kind of dress/tux your favorite country star wore? Where they got married? Maybe even to who if you have perhaps been living under a rock? Well here’s your go-to guide of some of the best in country musics’ big day…even if we wish that some of them would stay single forever…or until we scoop them up (it’s ok to admit it).
Zac Brown Band’s Coy Bowles
Everyone’s favorite fried chicken loving, laid back band’s guitarist, Coy Bowles, married his wife, Kylie, in probably the most creative way there is…in a music video! Bowles and his wife got hitched in the band’s “Sweet Annie” music video. Kylie wore a jeweled, gypsy style dress to go with their gypsy style wedding. Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert
The cutest/funniest/most beautiful country couple out there got back down to their roots for their wedding. Country music’s golden couple had a rock n roll wedding with some hillbilly thrown in there. It wouldn’t be a Shelton wedding without the hillbilly part. The “Mama’s Broken Heart” singer wore 2 different dresses for the ceremony and reception. For the ceremony she wore her mother’s dress and for the reception she wore a short dress. The most important part of her wardrobe? Cowboy boots of course! You can’t have a country wedding without them! Miranda’s bridesmaid and fellow country singer, Ashley Monroe, sang “Makin’ Plans”, a song Miranda wrote for Blake, while Miranda walked down the aisle. Blake also sang a song he wrote for their wedding at the reception, “Let’s Grow Old Together”. The best part though is how the happy couple had their dogs as a part of the wedding. So let’s just say they had the perfect wedding. Cue the jealousy.
Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley
The most recent wedding, and one that us ladies are probably not too excited about, is FGL’s Brian Kelley to his girlfriend of 7 months, Brittney Cole. These 2 secretly got married at Kelley’s home in Nashville at an outdoor ceremony in December. They wed at sunset in front of 40 guests, which included FGL’s Tyler Hubbard and the duo’s bandmates, and had a tapas-style dinner in a renovated barn. Cole found her short, lacy dress on Etsy. They plan on honeymooning somewhere tropical and getting a puppy this year. Talk about the perfect life. As upsetting as it is that Kelley is off the market, it does sound like a great wedding.
Carrie Underwood
The queen of country music (well, one of the queens) married her Canadian hockey player husband on July 10, 2010 in probably the most expensive wedding known to man. Maybe not the most expensive ever but it must come pretty close. They got married at a resort where the hotel name on the entry way and the room keys were replaced by a signature “CM”, which was also apparently printed everywhere. They clearly went all out and that’s just the start. Their fairytale wedding included 250 guests, 3,000 roses, a 40-carat tiara, a princess style ball gown dress custom designed for Underwood, and a whole lot of pink. Needless to say, their wedding was fit for the queen of country music.
Jake Owen
The “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” singer married his model girlfriend Lacey Buchanan on the beach at sunrise in Owen’s hometown of Vero Beach, Florida. This couple met when Buchanan was in Owen’s music video for “8 Second Ride” and started dating after she starred in his video for “Barefoot Blue Jean Night”. They were in fact barefoot at their small, intimate, family-only ceremony, but not in blue jeans. Buchanan’s sister was her maid of honor and Owen’s twin brother (yes, he has a twin) was his best man. After the ceremony they had champagne, cake and brunch at the Vero Beach Hotel and Spa. Buchanan is one lucky lady!
Kellie Pickler
TheAmerican Idolalum ditched her big wedding plans and eloped to Antigua with her Nashville song writer boyfriend, Kyle Jacobs. They got married on a sandbar in Antigua at sunset, followed by an intimate dinner at the Jumby Bay island resort. They danced, ate and drank champagne and then stayed for 4 days on the island. Well if that’s not the most perfect surprise wedding then I don’t know what is.
