Fifth Third Field Hosts (2024)

DAYTON, OH - During the summer of 2005, the Dayton Dragons and Fifth Third Field hosted a "Rock 'N Roll Double Header." In 2007, the music returns. The Dragons in conjunction with JAM Productions and Pacific Coast Concerts are teaming up for the "Rock 'N Roll Triple Play," a tour of America's Ballparks, featuring Counting Crows, Live and Collective Soul. The "Rock 'N Roll Triple Play" hits Fifth Third Field in Dayton on Friday, July 27th.

"We are very pleased with the success of the downtown stadium as a catalyst for downtown rejuvenation, and are very proud and excited to team up with JAM Productions and Pacific Coast Concerts for another tremendous entertainment event at Fifth Third Field," said Dragons President, Robert Murphy. THE BANDS

Counting Crows are an Academy Award-nominated alternative rock band from Berkeley, California. The group's success dates back to their 1993 debut album August And Everything After and the hit single "Mr. Jones." Subsequent albums include Recovering the Satellites (1996), which included the hit song "A Long December"; Across A Wire: Live in NY (1998); This Desert Life (1999) and Hard Candy (2002), which featured the band's Top 10 cover of Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi". In 2004 the band released their first ever "Best Of" set Films About Ghosts, which featured songs from every phase of Counting Crow's recording career, followed by the live album *New Amsterdam: Live at Heineken Music Hall 2003, The band's most recent successes include a # 1 hit with the song "Accidentally In Love," the opening theme for the movie Shrek 2, which aside from selling over a million records, garnered nominations in 2005 for a Grammy Award, a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award. Live: A band that came of age in the early 1990's, one of rock's most creative periods, remains intact. The same four guys who debuted at the middle school talent show in York, PA and saw the release of their debut album Mental Jewelry and their breakout follow up Throwing Copper, are still together making music 20 years later. TICKETS ON SALE

The Dragons have worked with JAM Productions and Pacific Coast Concerts to make special arrangements to allow season ticket holders, sponsors, suite holders, group leaders and members on the Dragons wait list to have first opportunity to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public on Saturday, June 2nd at 10:00 AM. On June 2nd the general public will be able to purchase tickets via the Dayton Dragons Box office in person or via phone at (937) 228-BATS (2287), or via Ticketmaster at their outlets, phone at (937) 228-2323, or online at ticketmaster.com.

Tickets are $49.50 each, and fans will have two seating options: (1) sit in the stadium seating bowl in reserved seating, or (2) venture on the field and stand closer to the stage; on-field seating will be general admission and standing room only (no chairs will be placed on the field). The stage will be located near the centerfield warning track; very close to the outfield wall.
