Behrens, age 86, long-time resident of CanalWinchester, Ohio died onAugust 29, 2022.

He was born at home onApril 16, 1936 to the late Harry and Ethel (Oyler) Behrens of Lithopolis, Ohio. He met the love of his life, Dolores Ripley, in Groveport and graduated fromGroveport High School in 1954. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1956 on the USS Robert L. Wilson.

He was a Columbus Firefighter from 1959 1995 and retired after 36 years of service.He was amember of St. Lutheran Church in Lithopolis OH. He helped at St. in many ways over the de- cades mowing, making coffee, helping with the chicken noodle dinner, pulling up carpet, painting or whatever needed done.He volunteered for the Lancaster Food Pantry andMeals onWheels. For years, he worked the Bloom-Township Fire De- Memorial Day Fish Fry, usually in the back washing dishes.

In his prime, he enjoyed vis- iting family in Florida and California, swimming, boating, and water-skiing at Park at Buckeye Lake with Dolores and the 4 kids. It was common for him to help family, churchmembers and neighbors with whatever chore was needed. Surviving are his children Denise (Mike) Fink, Deanna (Gale) Glendenning, Douglas (Cecelia) Behrens, and Dallas (Lorrie) Behrens; grandchil- dren, John Stevenson II, Douglas (Jaimie) Ste- venson, Logan (Abby) Glendenning, Blake (Al- lei) Behrens, Jessica Behrens, and step-grandson Jeremy Glendenning and 4 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law Robert Ripley, Gary (Marilyn) Ripley, and Roger (Jerri- lyn) Ripley and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of years Dolores (Ripley) Behrens, his brother Robert (Virginia) Behrens and sister Hattie (Royal) McCune and brother-in-law, John LaVern (Alice) Ripley and sister-in-law, Ruth Ripley.

At request, private internment will take place at the discretion. Interment will be at the Lithopolis Cemetery. Richard Lee Behrens LANCASTER Joyce Elaine Stoppenhagen went home to be with her Lord on August 31, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 20, 1938 to the late CharlesW. and Freda Lorena (Fry) Gregg just out- side Union She was the oldest, and only surviving, of three children. She met the love of her life and husband of 62 years, W. Gene Stoppenhagen, in June of 1955, at Pokagon State Park when her friends dared her to talk to cute The two attended DePauwUniversity in Greencastle, Indiana, where she was in the Delta Zeta sorority and earned a BA in Education.

Joyce and Genemarried in 1960 and had two children. Theymoved to in 1972. She was an activemember of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was in the choir and the Circle. first teaching job was in Renton, Washington in 1960, where she taught Spanish for a year while Gene attended graduate school.

She returned to teaching Spanish full-time at Pickerington High School from 1983-1998 and was much loved by her students and colleagues. Joyce also loved to travel. After her retirement, she and Gene traveled all over the world, visiting Alaska, and The Dominican Republic. They were among the last tourists to walk on the continent of Antarctica. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Douglas Dean and Michael Chester Gregg; and a cousin, Janet Swain.

She is survived by her husband, W. Gene Stoppenhagen; two children, Kristine (Timothy) Williams of Athens, Ohio, and Jeffrey (Denise) Stop- penhagen of Richfield, Ohio; two grandchildren, ErikaWilliams of Brook- lyn, New York, and Jackson Williams of Denver, Colorado; a sister-in law, Kay (Bert) Schulz of Angola, Indiana; a niece, Amy (Scott) Spooner and their son, Sean, of Saline, Michigan; and a cousin, Gloria Gregg of Sterling Heights, Michigan. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff in the ICU at Fairfield Medical Center for their care and for the many hugs and tears they shared with the family. Amemorial service will be held Saturday, September 10, at St. Paul Evan- gelical Lutheran Church, at the corner of E.Wheeling St.

Cordle, age 62 of Amanda, passed away on Thursday, Septem- ber 1, 2022, at his resi- dence. He was born on September 25, 1959, in Delaware, Ohio, son of the late Carl and Lolita (Young) Cordle. David is survived by his children, Eli McCa- rtney, Daniel Cordle, and Joseph Cordle, all of Lancaster; brothers, Carl (Pam) Cordle and Chuck Cordle, both of Lancaster; sisters, Pa- mela Wolgamont, of Lancaster, and Joyce Dusing, of Southern Ohio; several grandchil- dren, nieces, and neph- ews. The space shuttle program had ended, and with it the steady stream of space enthusiasts who the restaurants and hotel and motel rooms during regular astronaut launches.
